Pinch

Founded in 2004, Pinch is the collaboration between husband and wife team Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon.  I suppose I can chalk it up to London Design Festival as to why my recent posts have been about London based designers or, dare think,  great design is coming out of London these days, Yikes!.  This duo's approach to design is as much about their educational background as it is about their keen appreciation for artistic lines and form.  As seen here with their Pendel 2 Seat Sofa designed to make sense of compact space and perfect for so many of those areas within a home that call for cozy.

The Contore Bench has all of the elegance that great design exemplifies.  Sexy, curvy, and fluid, the oak turned legs are an updated traditional detail on such a modern frame.  Not to mention the buttoned, feather filled bolster, another throwback from an era of great design.

The Pendel Armchair's gentle elegant curves cocoon whilst the high back ensures comfortable head support.  And, oh yeah, ottoman available for ultimate relaxation.

Pinch has not forgotten the all important lighting and they do it well.  The original inspiration for Anders came from haute couture fashion which led the duo to use the traditional hat form blending shapes to suit their own aesthetic.  So, once again, a very "across the pond" sensibility that appeals to us all on a visceral level.  Best wishes to Pinch at London Design Festival.
