Macrame Chic

The very word macrame captures the 1970's for me.  We had, as a family, macrame hanging plant holders everywhere.  My mother was the macrame/spider plant queen.  To this day when I see a spider plant, I run in the other direction having no desire to re-live those unfortunate design years.  I was in high school during the 70's with relatively no control over my home decor.  My mother's idea of decorating was to use brown - everywhere, so macrame fit right into that design aesthetic because she could use hemp for the weave.  I used to giggle when she would over water the plants and the hemp would rot out, therefore that fabulous spider plant in my room, bit the dust and was never replaced.  I think worse than the plant and macrame, the hook in the ceiling - yikes, those we just plain ugly

While I can't do the spider plant ever again, I can get on board with the "new" macrame.  Roboty Reczne has fashioned a line of wearable jewelry and other accessories.  I love this look.  It's fresh, new and very artsy.  The jewelry has a little bling to it making it special, like below.

This necklace is very fun and whimsical.  Exactly the right accessory to a fabulous little black dress.

I like this bracelet because of the gold thread woven through the yarn.

Double link in silver is very much fun.

AND, chimneys!  Like you've never seen them.  I think they are simply divine.  The name for them is "shy", maybe an alternative word would be "mask."

Notice the bracelets...soft bling is the way I would describe them.  I really know nothing about this company and their website is not forthcoming with any information either.  You may place an order but, you must email them of your future purchase first.  I have no knowledge of their country of origin either, so please don't hold that against me if you find out it goes against your political views.  I report on trends not politics!  I do know, however, that everything is handmade.
