Bead Head

In my world my bedroom rules...nooo don't go there! I love a four poster bed, any four poster bed. They add drama, height and the chance to add more fabric which ='s more love. When four poster is mentioned, I am sure most of you are thinking of either your parent's bed or something fuddy duddy you equate four poster beds with. Well, I am here to dispel the myth! Four poster beds are really fun and there is one that fits every lifestyle. This first one is totally about the drama. The mirrored posts are very interesting...and, since it's not my bed you may go to where ever your were headed when I said my bedroom rules!
The goal here was to update the bed by painting it white and placing it against a dark taupe wall. They kept the bedcovers minimalist and everything else is vintage or antique (can't tell). Truly an eclectic look. The bed frame paint almost looks like there is a smattering of blue thrown in and you gotta love the bench at the end of the bed. I WANT that!
This bed is for the modernista...clean, simple and black. Easy. Check out the leather headboard!
this look can be achieved by those of you on a budget. Iron beds are less expensive and the bedcovers used here can be found at a discount in department stores if you shop them. The pillow fabric could be found at a flea market stall or your favorite African batik vendor.
This person clearly has a sense of humor and an adventurous spirit. The bed is traditional and paired with very bold prints. I wonder about the rug with that one square underneath the bed. Is that why there is no bedskirt? Or is it a shadow? In any case it's interesting.
Beds are a source of comfort. Beds are where we recharge ourselves. Beds should express who we are. |
