Bauble Bar

Two words period!  Bauble Bar.  I’m sure I am last on the block to hear about Bauble Bar but, no matter, I love it.  This new jewelry website cuts to the chase and provides designers a place to sell extra inventory much like One Kings Lane does with home furnishings.  Amy Jain and Danielle Yacobovsky figured it out.  Jewelry designers produce more than they can sell and high end retailers might pick up half of those pieces, marking them up wildly to pay for overhead that Jain and Danielle don’t have.  Our two girls step up to the plate and buy the other half of the designer’s collection and puts them on Bauble Bar.

Bauble Bar also offers how to accessorize your outfits with their jewelry on their website.  This makes it easier for those of us who are “jewelry” challenged.  I must say they make it very much fun.

The two girls personally inspect all of of the jewelry that Bauble Bar sells to maintain the highest quality to it shoppers.

The Federal Trade Commission currently does not regulate luxury goods pricing, therefore you might find yourself spending upwards of 300% over cost for these little baubles in a retail shop.  Granted, not all jewelry in the universe will ever be on this website.  So, if you are waiting for that perfect something, well, you may want to go ahead and buy it.  I love this little anchor bracelet below - what a great gift to that sailor gal of yours.

Launching any web startup is daunting in these times but, when it comes down to self adornment, we all find ways to look our best and Bauble Bar is a really good start.  You are going to hear more and more about this website as their jewelry shines on!

As most retailers figure it out, one has to wonder.  Where are our retailers headed,  where are our bookstores headed as well, as we all start to shop for less on line?  Of course not everything of value will be available on line but, it does make me wonder where we are headed as a society.  More thoughts on that later as I await my first Bauble Bar purchase!
