Alphabetical Chairs by Roeland Otten

For all of you monogram lovers out there Roeland Otten has come up with one brilliant idea. He has designed the first set of alphabetical chairs and I think they are pretty terrific as far as design goes. Otten describes these chairs as “communicative furniture for use in a public space”. Why public space I ask when one can really use these as helpful hints at home. Ten years ago, while a student at Design Academy Eindhoven studying Graphic Design, Otten started working on this delightful concept using the sans serif font. This must be Roeland, he’s sitting on an R. I think we have a new buzz word in the world of hot seats - "communicative seating" - doesn’t that just make you all warm and fuzzy? Give me an A! I don’t know about you but, I may have to own all 26 letters to make my "communicative seating" more effective. Of course you then run into the problem of vowels, sorta like being on the Wheel of Fortune, you may have to purchase a few more just to get your point across. I don't really have a reason to own a "T" but I like its aesthetic. Also, some of these letters lend themselves to counter height stools as well for a bar. I'm thinking the "T" does that as in "marTini" or "Time for a drink" or "CockTail Hour" just a few examples of why you would want a certain letter. If you really wanted to get cute you could spell out BAR and be done with it. I can come up with a few more but, let's save that for email.
